[Birthday greetings go out today to Paul McCartney … in L.A. tonight we have something of a Brooklyn Invasion:]

White Rabbits’ new album “It’s Frightening” was produced by Britt Daniel of Spoon, and the music brims with the same spare-but-urgent qualities (that’s the video for “Percussion Gun,” above). The Brooklyn-based sextet headlines the Troubadour tonight with fellow Brooklyners the Subjects. … Also in from the borough is electro-pop trio Chairlift [pictured], who made their mark with the song from the iPod Nano commercial “Bruises” and followed it up with their debut album “Does You Inspire You.” Chairlift headlines the Echo to kick off an L.A. stand that includes an appearance at the Saturdays Off the 405 series in the Getty Museum courtyard (6 p.m. Saturday) and a gig at the Detroit Bar on Sunday. … At Spaceland, Art Brut blasts into the third of its four L.A. shows this week, with Rumspringa and Voxhaul Broadcast support. … Busdriver, supported by Blank Blue, headlines the Knitting Factory. … Giant State continues its residency at the Viper Room, with Halos among the support. … Fitz & the Tantrums do their soul thing at 3 Clubs. … And Me Talk Pretty rocks the Mint – afterparty at, er, Denny’s? … Also: It’s Modern Time Machines at the Silverlake Lounge; Oak and Gorski (and Joe Firstman) at the Hotel Cafe; Warpaint doing a 7 p.m. in-store at Amoeba; and the Yelling and the White Buffalo at the Detroit Bar.
