There’s an incredible slate of shows tonight, starting with the Nine Inch Nails finale at the Wiltern. IO Echo opens. … Cass McCombs‘ “Catacombs” may well the bedroom pop album of the year (I wonder how many romantic mixtapes the song “Dreams Come True Girl” has made this year), and the singer-songwriter visits the Bootleg Theater tonight. Supporting are San Francisco (all-male) quartet Girls, whose debut “Album” (out Sept. 22) is a lot better than their live show. … Soulsavers, the project of producers Rich Machin and Ian Glover that includes vocalist Mark Lanegan, have released their sophomore album “Broken” digitally. The touring quintet hits the Troubadour tonight, with L.A. songstress Jonneine Zapata and her band opening. … Rising soul phenomenon Mayer Hawthorne [pictured] plays the Roxy. … Great psych-rock lineup at Spaceland, with Outrageous Cherry and” Asteroid #4 hooking up with L.A. peeps the Tyde and Devon Williams [download below]. … At the El Rey, Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker warm up for this weekend’s annual campout at Pappy and Harriet’s in Pioneertown. … Clem Snide plays the Hotel Cafe. … Courtenay Green heads up a big lineup at the Silverlake Lounge. … And as part of Artwalk activities downtown, Obi Best and Robotanists will perform at Edgar Varela Fine Arts (542 S.
