[We now return to our regularly scheduled programming.]

loneydearHaven’t had a chance until now to tout the new Cave Singers’ sophomore album, “Welcome Joy” [download below], a nice slice of laid-back folk that came out in August. The Seattle band hits the Echo tonight. … Swedish quartet Sahara Hotnights kind of vanished from my radar after their 2004 album (a memorable tour with the Hives), but this year they released a new album “What If Leaving Is a Loving Thing” (produced by Bjorn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John) that’s done well in Europe. Maria Andersson and Jennie Asplund of the Hotnights will do an early acoustic set at the Viper Room (the Filthy Souls headline), ostensibly to drum up support for a U.S. release for that album. … Amusement Parks on Fire will rock Spaceland (and film the show). … Hope Hayley Williams has her voice back for Paramore’s sold-out show at the Palladium. … And the Horrors, with local rockers Japanese Motors opening, will play the El Rey Theatre. … Also: Loney, Dear [pictured] and Asobi Seksu at the Troubadour; Dusty Rhodes and the River Band, with the Flying Tourbillon Orchestra and Seasons, at the Knitting Factory; another sold-out Pearl Jam show at Gibson Amphitheatre; big benefit at Club Nokia featuring Dwight Yoakam, Emmylou Harris, Melissa Etheridge and Vince Gill; the Sonus Quartet at the Bootleg Theater; and Devon Williams at the Silverlake Lounge.
