Classic rock-leaning trio the Northstar Session kicks things off. … This month offers plenty of Monday night competition – starting at Spaceland, where gritty blues-rockers Year Long Disaster starts the buildup to the March release of its sophomore album, “Black Magic: All Mysteries Revealed.” … Indie-pop quintet the French Semester, with a strong supporting cast that includes Letting Up Despite Great Faults and the Spires, holds forth at the Echo. … And at the Silverlake Lounge, O.C.’s the Steelwells are the residents, with the Color Turning and the Living Suns supporting on the first week.
