So the story of Lucy Schwartz’s big break is that her father was jogging past the house of KCRW’s Chris Douridas and hand-delivered Lucy’s demo to the DJ. Which led to airplay on KCRW. Which led to Schwartz – as an 18-year-old senior at Palisades High – writing songs for the opening and closing credits of the movie for which Douridas was music supervisor, 2008’s “The Women.” Fast-forward: Now Schwartz, all of 20, is self-releasing her EP “Help Me! Help Me!,” a sampling of her strikingly mature work recorded with producers Mitchell Froom, Barrie Maguire and David Schwartz. It’s the songstress’s first release since her teenage bow “Winter in June” came out in 2007, though she’s been busy in TV and film, with songs in shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy” and “ER,” as well as in the upcoming movie “Mother and Child.”
