“He was a great friend and a big fan of the band,” Glacier Hiking frontman Ross Golan says. “You know how there’s a core group of people who come to your shows? He’d been there from the beginning, and he was the kind of guy who’d bring 10 friends to the show. We’ll miss him.”
Mentell, like Golan, hailed from the Chicago area but the two never met until they were in Los Angeles. Among other projects, Mentell had a two-season role as attorney Garrett Wells on “Boston Legal.” Donations will be made to the Waukegan Park District Cultural Arts, 39 Jack Benny Dr., Waukegan, IL 60087.
Justin was a friend and like a son to me. I talked with him on the 30th of January and never expected to be one of many who were asked to eulogize him at his memorial service on the 13th of February. He will be missed every day. So glad to see how so many people loved him. If you did not have the pleasure of meeting Justin I would say you missed out, but if you did know him, well we can just smile and say God made a great man.
