thedepreciationguild-taylorpedenThe post -SXSW onslaught of great shows begins tonight, when Norwegian rockers Serena-Maneesh hit the Troubadour. Their new album “S-M 2: Abyss in B Minor” comes out Tuesday. Supporting will be Brooklyn’s the Depreciation Guild [pictured], which has a new album “Spirit Youth” coming May 18. … Speaking of new album, L.A. trio Oliver Future just wrapped up work on “In Event of Moon Disaster,” and although release plans haven’t been hammered out yet, the three-piece plays the Bootleg Theater tonight. … Also new and worthy of your attention: Local ambient rockers the Frequency – one of those bands that gets more love in the U.K. than it does on its home turf – has wrapped up work on a new album “Absence of Giants” [more on this release later]. Hear some of it at the Echo tonight. … Also: Seaspin and Twilight Sleep at the Silverlake Lounge; Moonrats at Spaceland; Elemenopy at the Viper Room; Justin Young and Ernie Halter at the Hotel Cafe; and the Tiger Club at the Mint.
