The new music from SoCal quintet Mississippi Man pulls the heartstrings into the penumbra between giddy folk/blues and vintage pop, and that is A-OK. Actually, “A-OK” is the title of the debut album singer-guitarists Luke Messimer and David Knight and their bandmates plan to release this summer. They’ve been recording since earlier this spring in an old warehouse, using an old tape machine, trying to realize that old adage that everything old is new again.
