[Tip of the cap to Billy Squier on his 60th birthday. Here’s what’s out there tonight:]

Diane Birch, the 27-year-old preacher’s daughter who once did duty as a lounge pianist at the Beverly Hills Hotel, was last spotted in L.A. opening for Nick Jonas early this year at the Wiltern. The pop-soul songstress, whose 2009 debut “Bible Belt” has some pretty special moments, returns tonight for a date at the Mint (a show originally scheduled for the El Rey Theatre). That’s director Dennis Liu’s video for “Valentino” above; the backstory is here. … Ben Folds hits the Fonda Theatre for the first of his two dates on the “Ben Folds and a Piano” tour. … Evan Voytas – who’s going to be part of Flying Lotus’ live band – plays the Echo. … And London’s V.V. Brown brings her soul stylings to the Troubadour. … Also: Ojos Rojos, Ex-Detectives and Lantvrn at the Silverlake Lounge; Baths at the Airliner; Barrio Tiger at Spaceland; / Rocket and the Damn Sons at 3 Clubs; the Rouge at the Viper Room; the Daylights at the Hotel Cafe; and Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Star at the Roxy.
