Coincidence: There I was, working on a mini-retrospective of the Wedding Present’s debut George Best (complete with sweet backing vocals by Amelia Fletcher), and into my inbox pops news of a forthcoming new album by Tender Trap (lead voice –Amelia Fletcher), “Dansette Dansette.” The core twee-o … er, trio of Fletcher, partner Rob Pursey and John Downfall is augmented by Elizabeth Darling (from Allo Darlin’) on guitar and vocals and Katrina Dixon (formerly of Police Cat) on drums, and the band shows off its newly acquired muscle on a helter-skelter dash through the advance track from the album, a rumbling rhythmic rockabilly put-down called “Girls With Guns.” Boys beware!
