After his two- (and sometimes four-) piece the Voyeurs went quietly into the night, singer-keyboardist Jonathan Hylander embarked on a solo project that would be come to known as Honey Loving Cells. He released a song per week this summer, culminating in this debut EP – and also collaborated with Wendy Wang (the Sweet Hurt) on a lovely single, “Everything From the Sun,” which finds the songwriter minding his piano-man sensibilities, waxing philosophical about self-reliance and, as he is wont to do, ratcheting things up in the bridge. Hylander has assembled a quartet around his project, with guitarist Greg Weigel (I Make This Sound, et al), bassist Jake Posner (the Break Ups) and drummer Mike Hopkins (IMTS, the Californian, et al).
