[It’s Lil Wayne’s birthday, but there probably won’t be much of a party in Rikers Island, where he’s currently doing time. Over the weekend, Eminem led the Epicenter Festival crowd in chants of “Free Lil Wayne.” Come November.]

The Black Keys tee it up at the Palladium, supported by L.A. quartet the Growlers.
‣ Shapeshifting L.A. quartet Abe Vigoda [pictured] celebrates the release of its sophomore album “Crush” at La Cita. The foursome heads overseas on tour supporting No Age in early October.
‣ Twenty-year-old whiz kid Lucy Schwartz [background] marks the release of her debut “Life in Letters” by playing It’s a School Night’s at Bardot with A Fine Frenzy.
Eastern Conference Champions wind up their Spaceland residency, supported by Helen Stellar, Moving Picture Show and Therapy Session.
Vanaprasta and Pacific Hurt wind up their co-residency at the Echo (with Chasing Kings and Kissed Her Little Sister).
‣ And Family of the Year wraps up its month at the Silverlake Lounge (featuring Seasons and an acoustic set from Grouplove).
