‣ British dance-rock trio Friendly Fires, last spotted here in 2009 flexing their muscles behind their Mercury Prize-nominated debut, return for a show at the Roxy to debut songs off their forthcoming sophomore album. Superhumanoids open.
‣ Great L.A. songwriter night at the Satellite, where Ferraby Lionheart (Remember “Jack of Hearts?” We do) is joined by Obi Best, Willoughby and Rob Kolar (of Lemon Sun/He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister).
‣ Desert-dwelling dance rockers Gram Rabbit kick off a residency downtown at Bordello, with Rachel Goodrich and Mad Planet opening.
‣ Scorching Nashville quartet Mona (that’s the video for “Listen to Your Love,” above) have already done well in the U.K.; they visit the Echo tonight supported by locals Vanaprasta and Polls.
‣ And Denmark’s Tina Dico plays the Troubadour behind the release of her seventh album, “Welcome Back Colour.”
