Kicking off the first weekend in March:
‣ Releasing an album, “Gemini,” followed by an EP, “Golden Haze,” Virginia’s Wild Nothing won a lot of indie hearts last year. Songwriter Jack Tatum and band bring their dream-pop to this month’s installment of First Fridays at the Natural History Museum, where they are supported by L.A.’s Abe Vigoda.
‣ Autolux headlines the Echoplex, with noisy newbies the Soft Moon – that’s their video for “Circles,” above – opening.
‣ The Elephant 6 Holiday Surprise Tour hits the Satellite; an 11-plus cadre of musicians from the collective are touring and performing the music of the Olivia Tremor Control, Elf Power, Circulatory System, Neutral Milk Hotel and the Gerbils, to name a few.
‣ Swedish indie-poppers the Concretes are on their first U.S. tour in four years; their latest album “WYWH” came out last year, and that’s the video for “Cracks in the Paint,” above.
‣ And Wet & Reckless and the Holloys head up a good local bill at the Bootleg Theater.
