Brian Whelan, Stephen Sowan and Jason Diaz play Buzz Bands LA’s SecondTuesday at Lot 1 Cafe

Great rootsy music is on the menu at Lot 1 Cafe on May 10 when Brian Whelan, Stephen Sowan and Jason Diaz perform at Buzz Bands LA’s SecondTuesday songwriter night. Whelan, the guitarist/bassist who plays in Apex Manor and has done time alongside notable country rockers Mike Stinson, Tony Gilkyson and Randy Weeks, has earned some well-deserved attention for his solo project, Wheelhouse. Sowan recently earned substantial buzz with the debut of his new band, the classic rock-influenced Blue Blood. And Diaz turned heads last year with his first release, the soulful, bluesy “Stomp Out the Sun.” Doors at 9 p.m., with Diaz’s set to kick off the evening. Admission is $5; Lot 1 serves food, beer and wine.
