‣ It’s the first day of the 33rd annual Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl. On tap today: Diane Reeves, the Roots (with Terence Blanchard), Fourplay and the Eddie Palmieri Salsa Orchestra, among others.
Jenny and Johnny headline the Music Box, and opening is Nik Freitas, who has a new album out this week titled “Saturday Night Underwater.”
Paul van Dyk (pictured), with a new album “Evolution” in the works, performs at the Hollywood Palladium.
