‣ Grammy-nominated the Roots visit the House of Blues for the 8th Annual Roots Jam Session, which is sure to feature some special cameos and this year benefits the youth charity United Roots Oakland.
‣ O.C. breakout rockers Young The Giant headline the first of two nights at the Wiltern Theater.
Los Campesinos! (pictured), the giddy pop septet from Cardiff, Wals, headlines the Echoplex behind its snappy fourth album, “Hello Sadness.” Parenthetical Girls open.
‣ Fresh off scorching opening sets on Wilco’s tour, Austin quartet White Denim headlines the Satellite, with two excellent local openers, Caught a Ghost and Deap Vally.
Paul Van Dyk headlines the Avalon Hollywood behind his forthcoming sixth album “Evolution.”
‣ The amazing Trombone Shorty brings his New Orleans-flavored jazz-funk to the Key Club.
