[In the midst of all other summer festival news, Make Music Pasadena will be the first to follow up Silver Lake Jubilee as a local music outdoor event. They’ve got a diverse lineup with artists playing in every nook and cranny of the city. Here’s a quick preview of three different bands playing on Saturday…]
Best Coast, “Gone Again” – Best Coast returns with a new single via Adult Swim, but not much as changed since their breakout album “Crazy For You.” There are still plenty of “oooohs” to go around in this track, and Bethany Cosentino makes sure to mention her two loves in the first verse: Marijuana and her cat. If you’re in the mood for songs that rhyme “crazy” and “lazy” a lot, they play the Indie Rock stage along with Ra Ra Riot, the Morning Benders, Saint Motel and more.

With former members of the Pacific in the band, the Bixby Knolls still pump that SoCal charm on their upcoming album, but their Brit-rock influences also give them some edge. They play the Majestical Roof stage along with Robotanists, Tommy Santee Klaws, the Lonely Wild and more.

Christian and Pearl Driftwood will be offering their close-knit Americana harmonies in their lo-fi arrangements of banjo, mandolin and autoharp.
