[Recently crossing our radar …]

The Features, “Rambo” – The Nashville quartet’s fist-pumping take on indie blues has been a staple of our playlists for a long time, and its second album for Kings of Leon’s Serpents and Snakes label, “Wilderness” (out next week), does nothing to diminish our enthusiasm. Matt Pelham wails like he means it, and considering the ups and downs he’s had in the business, he probably does. And thankfully, “Wilderness” sounds nothing like the band’s recent press photo suggests. The Features July 29 at the Satellite.

Waters, “For the One” – A surprising turn from Van Pierszalowski in the wake of the breakup of his band Port O’Brien: He moved to Norway last year, and his music got loud, really loud. See if you can play spot-the-influence on “For the One,” which seems beamed from a 1993 indie-rock mixtape. Waters’ album “Out in the Light” will be out Sept. 20 via TBD Records/City Slang. Download the song via Sterogum. Catch Waters (who moved to SoCal this month) on Aug. 10 at the Troubadour, opening for Vetiver.

Wallpaper, “Shotgun” – The Oakland electro crazy is back with an EP titled “#STUPiDFACEDD,” and, well, we called him crazy for a reason. Bay Area artists Too Short and K. Flay guest, and overall there’s nothing Ricky Reed won’t tweak, including spelling, capitalization and punctuation. Is this still big with the Dim Mak crowd? It would do well on Warped Tour. Wallpaper headlines the Troubadour tonight.
