Roaring into the weekend:
‣ Thurston Moore and Kurt Vile do their second sold-out night at the Troubadour.
‣ Nashville indie-blues quartet the Features (pictured) – their new album “Wilderness” cementing a place in our playlists – headline the Satellite, with Oh Darling opening.
‣ Speaking of darlings, Those Darlins play the Echo, with White Arrows and Motopony supporting.
‣ The 14th annual International Pop Overthrow kicks off two weeks of shows around L.A. showcasing power-pop bands. Tonight’s opener at Molly Malone’s features the Eugene Edwards Band, King Washington and the Records (featuring John Wicks), among others.
‣ Becky Stark and Lavender Diamond bring a batch of fresh songs to McCabe’s.
‣ Jason Diaz plays the Hotel Cafe in between sets from David Ryan Harris and Kill the Complex.
‣ And it’s a great night at the Greek Theater, where Los Lonely Boys and Los Lobos team up.
