A little rock, a lot of roar:

‣ It’s a hometown party tonight at the Roxy for dance-punks Funeral Party (pictured), whose debut “Golden Age of Knowhere” came out back in January. They will be joined by Nashville quartet Mona, whose self-titled debut came out in September. [Buzz Bands LA will be DJing the proceedings.]
Beirut, its new album “The Rip Tide” getting a lot of deserved love, plays the Greek Theatre.
The Jayhawks play to a sold-out Troubadour behind their new album “Mockingbird Time,” the first Jayhawks album featuring both Gary Louris and Mark Olson since 1995.
Joe Purdy is back for another night at the Hotel Cafe.
Jolie Holland does an early show at the Bootleg behind her acclaimed new album “Pint of Blood.”
‣ And Escalator Hill kicks off a Tuesday residency at the Central SAPC, supported by Wires in the Walls and Oak and Gorski.
