‣ It promises to feel like a night at the movies at the Satellite, where A Winged Victory for the Sullen performs. It’s a collaboration pairing Adam Bryanbaum Wiltzie (Stars of the Lid) and pianist Dustin O’Halloran (once upon a time of the fine L.A. duo Devics), and their ambient tunes will be abetted by the American Contemporary Music Ensemble and video projections Christina Vantzou.
‣ Kiev continues its residency at the Central SAPC in Santa Monica with a good lineup that includes Monte Mar, the New Limb and Facts on File.
‣ The Western States Motel dives into the second week of its residency at On the Rox [grab “All the Stars”], supported by Francisco the Man and Radars to the Sky.
‣ And Portland’s Y La Bamba lands back in town for a show at the Bootleg as Luz Elena and the crew continue their West coast tour to promote their follow-up to the gorgeous “Lupon.” (Those who attended our SecondTuesday show back in June got a sneak peek.)
