‣ If it’s the first Sunday of the month, that means Daniel Ahearn and the Sunday Night Jones will be playing at the Satellite. L.A. band Taylor Locke & the Roughs and Canadian alternative folk-rock band Deep Dark Woods [See “West Side Street” ] also join in on the fun.
‣ Judson McKinney celebrates the release of his album “Drink the Wine” with Count Fleet, the Lonely Wild and Fort King at Bootleg Theater.
‣ Local ’90s punk rockers Wax headline the Troubadour. [Remember the Spike Jonze-directed music video for this tune?] George Watsky supports.
‣ Seattle’s soul phenom Allen Stone does his second SoCal show of the weekend. This time he’ll be rocking the Constellation Room at Galaxy Theatre.
‣ San Francisco-bred but now L.A.-based band the String Fellow Hawks [pictured above] bring their blues-infused Southern rock to Hotel Cafe. Mike Gibbons, The Pennant, Alexandra & The Starlight Band and more round out tonight’s lineup. Grab the track “Texarkana to Galiee” below.
