Join me at midnight tonight on KCSN (88.5 FM, or streaming at KCSN.org) as my LA Buzz Bands Show begins a three-week celebration of my favorite local music of 2011. My “Fave 40” countdown will feature the local tunes I had in heaviest rotation this year, and there were plenty to choose from. Tonight’s show will start at No. 40 and sail down to No. 27 (or thereabouts), and the second two installments of the countdown will commence on Dec. 18 and Christmas night, respectively. Yeah, that means we’ll reach No. 1 about 12:55 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 26, but everybody will be awake … right?
