It’s March already? Tonight certainly feels like it:
‣ Brooklyn-based dance-punks !!! (Chk Chk Chk) are assembling material for their first album since 2010’s “AM/FM” and doing a run of club shows to try out new songs. They visit the Echoplex tonight supported by Wild Belle.
‣ Veteran psych-rocker Roky Erickson returns for a show at the El Rey Theatre.
‣ A little something for everybody at the monthly Traffic Ctrl night at the Airliner, where Francisco the Man and Tic Tic Boom!, who are joined by the Ross Sea Party and John Carpenter.
‣ He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister, the tap-dancer-added folk ensemble who are at work on a new Thom Monahan-produced album, headlines the Echo, supported by the Lonely Wild and Bad Weather California.
‣ The local-artist “Homegrown” series at the Grammy Museum plays host to alt-country/classic rock outfit the White Buffalo, whose new album “One Upon a Time in the West” came out this week
‣ And also at work on a new album Taylor Locke & the Roughs heads up a good local show at the Viper Room featuring Cannoneers and Purple Melon.
