Your fine Friday frolics:

‣ Austin’s the Strange Boys (pictured at their Troubadour show last year) play a free show at Los Globos (the sponsor wants your RSVP) supported by the Coathangers, White Mystery and Wounded Lion.
The Magnetic Fields visit the Orpheum Theatre in supporting their latest, “Love at the Bottom of the Sea.”
Whispertown celebrates the release of its new EP “Parallel” at the Hotel Cafe in a show packed with special guests (Blake Sennett and Johnathan Rice among them). Earlier in the evening, the Lumineers and Y La Bamba are back for a second night at the Cahuenga Boulevard venue. (Y La Bamba plays earlier at Origami Vinyl too.)
Amy Ray (of the Indigo Girls) plays the Bootleg Bar behind her new solo release “Lung of Love.” She’s backed by a band that includes members of the Butchies.
