This makes for a pretty terrific Tuesday:
‣ Beach House and Wild Nothing team up to do a (very) sold-out show at the El Rey Theatre.
‣ Lyle Lovett visits the Wiltern behind his new album “Release Me,” which came out in February.
‣ Barry Manilow and the L.A. Philharmonic do a second night of hits and patriotic tunes amid fireworks at the Hollywood Bowl.
‣ Sibling-powered electro-poppers Blondfire (that’s Erica and Bruce Driscoll, pictured) kick off a residency at the Central SAPC, supported by Relative Motion and In the Valley Below.
‣ Noise-pop trio Nightmare Air heads up a local bill at the Satellite, along with Strange Parade and Cardboard Lamb. [Still love this song we posted in April.]
‣ Rainbow Jackson celebrates the release of its first EP “Rippin’ Off the Rails” with a show at Los Globos featuring Vs Colour and “special guests.”
‣ And ’80s techno adventurers Information Society, joined by L.A. duo Father Tiger, play a show at King King that originally was scheduled for a new Glendale venue called Complex (its opening has been delayed).
