‣ They were electro before you: Pioneering electronic act and synth surrealists Tangerine Dream visit Club Nokia as part of the Electric Mandarine Tour.
‣ Brooklyn garage-poppers the Babies swing into the Echo, supported by Crazy Band, Low Flying Owls and Warships.
‣ Austin three-piece My Jerusalem, with an album produced by Spoon’s Jim Eno on the way this fall, headlines the Satellite, but much of the interest will be on the Cold and Lovely, the new project including Meghan Toohey, Smashing Pumpkins basist Nicole Fiorentino and Hole drummer Patty Schemel. The Dead Ships are also on the bill.
‣ And there are an abundance of free shows on this fine Thursday. The best of them: Allah-Las and KCRW DJ Anne Litt at the Hammer Museum as part of its “Made in L.A.” Music Series; the Mighty Diamonds and the Lions at Santa Monica Pier; and Allensworth at Levitt Pavilion Pasadena.
