@KRBronson recommends: any or all of the album-release shows crowding the schedule – Of Verona (tonight at Bardot), Eleni Mandell (Tuesday at the Hotel Cafe) and Saint Motel (Saturday at the El Rey Theatre with Princeton and Chasing Kings). Oh, and while I’m at it, Robert DeLong’s headlining show at the Troubadour on Wednesday should be pretty festive – it was just announced today that he has signed to Glassnote Records.
@Seraphina_L recommends: Sea Wolf and Geographer at the Skirball Cultural Center on Friday night. With “Old World Romance” due out Sept. 11 on Dangerbird Records, Alex Church and his band are bound to play a batch of brand new tunes, plus some old favorites. San Francisco’s trio Geographer will also be a nice touch with their flawless falsetto and cello-laden synth-rock.
