‣ Austin’s Shearwater, the band which features Okkervil River’s Jonathan Meiburg, brings their psychedelic folk rock to the Echo in support of their latest album “Animal Joy.” [That’s their video above for the “You As You Were.”] Fellow Sub Pop label mates and Aussies Husky will support. Hardly Art artist Gold Leaves opens the night.
‣ Screeching Weasel takes on the Fonda. The Queers and Toys That Kill also play.
‣Jamaica’s ska and reggae aficionados Toots and the Maytals headline the Hollywood Bowl where their featured guest will be Ziggy Marley.
‣ Simon Joyner headlines the Bootleg where the Renderers support. The night kicks off with a special guest.
‣ The Janks, Fort King, L.A. Girlfriend and Dylan Trees all play Lot 1 Cafe’s Sunday brunch event starting at noon.
