Continuing with their second of three planned outdoor free concerts, KCRW presented prog-lite rockers Portugal. The Man to the Annenberg Space for Photography’s current exhibition “Who Shot Rock and Roll.” Celebrating both the exhibition, which runs through Oct. 7, and the 50th anniversary of T. Rex’s 1972 album, “The Slider,” Portugal. the Man played a rather informed and successful set twisting between originals, covers from the glam-rock pioneers (“Children of the Revolution,” “The Slider”) and the occasional Beatles drop (“Hey Jude”) to a capacity crowd, on a grassy space situated between three office buildings and the museum itself.

The series on Aug. 4 with performances from Raphael Saadiq, Band of Skulls and DJ Anne Litt. RSVP here.
