We show July the door in a very big way:
‣ The Ruby Friedman Orchestra, the Lonely Wild and the New Limb kick off the new KCSN/Buzz Bands LA live music series at the Federal Bar in North Hollywood. Doors at 8.
‣ Tenacious D wind up a long tour behind their new album “Rize of the Fenix” with a headlining show at the Wiltern.
‣ A late set by Jason Falkner highlights tonight’s fifth day of shows at International Pop Overthrow. The festival’s bill at the Echoplex also features King Washington, Cannoneers, Lovers Drugs, Sunken Ships and more.
‣ Blondfire winds up its residency at the Central SAPC in Santa Monica, supported by In the Valley Below, Y Luv and We Are She Is.
‣ HOTT MT celebrates the vinyl release of the “Never Hate Again,” the single the band made with the Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne, with a show at the Echo. Oh Boy Les Mecs, the new venture from members of Twilight Sleep, supports, along Evrika and the Cosmonauts. And “very special guests” are promised. Hmm.
‣ And the Mynabirds [see last week’s post] visit the Satellite behind their new album “Generals,” supported by Deep Time and Ponyboy.
