@KRBronson recommends: Redd Kross’ first album in 15 years is titled “Researching the Blues,” and leave it to guys who put out their first record during the first Reagan Administration to show the kids how it’s done. The veteran quartet does power-pop with a punk edge, and “Researching the Blues” crackles with guitar licks that would have made my spine tingle in any era. They headline the Roxy on Tuesday night, supported by Tijuana Panthers and Pangea. And Keith Morris DJs.
@Seraphina_L recommends: Andrew Bird and Sharon Van Etten at the Greek Theatre on Sunday. A big outdoor stage is the perfect setting for these intimate songwriters. Multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird is currently touring in support of his latest album “Break It Yourself” and the soft-spoken but dynamic Sharon Van Etten will be playing her new songs off of “Tramp.”
