Download: FIDLAR, ‘Cheap Beer’

If pop hooks and punk energy were drinks, they’d be “Cheap Beer.” FIDLAR taps both – well, all three – in abundance, as the L.A. quartet has shown, first on its “DIYDUI” EP in April 2011 and then on the four-song volley “Don’t Try” a year later. Whether playing a proper show in a large venue or rocking a house party, the foursome of Zac Carper, Brandon Schwartzel and brothers Elvis and Max Kuehn live up to their devil-may-care acronym (to review: F*ck It Dog, Life’s A Risk). Their new single “Cheap Beer” is the first blast off a full-length they have planned for early 2013 on Mom + Pop Records. Me, I need a tallboy and a lyric sheet.
