Jack’s Mannequin, the band fronted by O.C.-bred songwriter Andrew McMahon, has reached the end. On his website today, McMahon announced the quartet will play its final show Nov. 11 in L.A. – a benefit at the El Rey Theatre for the Dear Jack Foundation. Tickets go on sale Wednesday. Wrote McMahon:

“These are not easy words to write but I truly believe that the ending of this chapter will give birth to something beautiful. I cannot thank you all enough for the support you have given, not just to me, but also to Bobby, Jay, Mikey and Jon over the last seven years.”

McMahon, who formerly fronted the band Something Corporate, had said last fall upon the release of Jack’s Mannequin’s third album “People and Things” that he would henceforth release music under his own name. Jack’s Mannequin’s first album came out in 2005, about the same time he was diagnosed with leukemia. He recovered thanks to a stem cell transplant from his sister Kate.
