‣ Coming off their epic club show Saturday night at the Echoplex, Of Montreal headlines the Culture Collide Block Party (on Reservoir between Alvarado and Sunset in Echo Park, free with RSVP) as the Filter magazine festival comes to a close. The Wombats, School of Seven Bells, Niki and the Dove, late lineup addition Poolside, DIIV, Gold Fields and Royal Teeth also are part of the festival finale, which brings about 30 bands to four stages. ‣ There’s a free music matinee in Chinatown’s Central Plaza as part of today’s CicLAvia event – starting at noon, it’s Sanglorians, then Blonde Summer, Warships and Tapioca & the Flea.
Florence & the Machine does the first of two nights at the Hollywood Bowl, along with the Weeknd and the Maccabees.
‣ And it’s a special night at the Hotel Cafe: Laura Marling stops in for an early set with Florence Hartigan; later, Damien Rice will be the special guest for a show that features the Lonely Wild and Kita Klane.
