The tentacles of Superstorm Sandy have extended their reach to southern California. Woodkid – the musical alter ego of artist and video director Yoann Lemoine – has been forced to postpone his first three U.S. performances, including Saturday’s scheduled date at the Luckman Fine Arts Complex, because of travel complications. Woodkid was scheduled to perform Thursday in New York and Friday in San Francisco as well.
Lemoine, known for his videos for Lana Del Rey, Katy Perry, Moby, Yelle, the Shoes and Drake & Rihanna, among others, released the well-received EP “Iron” last year, and was scheduled to bring his visually striking stage show to the U.S. for the first time. No makeup date has been announced. The venue’s anouncement this mornig said tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. More at luckmanarts.org.
