If this new track from Robert DeLong doesn’t get you amped up for the weekend, I don’t know what will. The electronic maestro, who just wrapped up his well-attended residency at the Echoplex, releases the new single “Global Concepts” as a new member of Glassnote Records. Continuing to prove that he is more than just a beat-maker, the lyrics from DeLong as a singer-songwriter are articulate as the track’s composition. Its dark grooves are a foil to the bright pop riffs on “Happy,” but there’s no shortage of energy. The one-man band cranks up the power on his Wii-motes, MIDI interfaces, full drums, keys and laptop here, too. In addition to this original version of the song (out now on iTunes), the single package for “Global Concepts” includes a club edit. DeLong’s debut record, “Just Movement,” is slated for Jan. 22 via Glassnote Records.
