Popular With Me 2012: Buzz Bands LA’s favorite local songs of the year (today on Moheak Radio)

Popular With Me 2012 – the annual countdown of my favorite SoCal songs of the year – kicks off today on the Buzz Bands LA Show on Moheak Radio. Tune in at 11 a.m. as I launch into the three-week series, which continues Dec. 14 and winds up Dec. 21. This year: 101 songs … in honor of the 101 Freeway, which recently claimed the life of my poor car.

This year’s list was especially hard to pare down; I had almost 300 songs in my L.A. iTunes folder. Close followers will note the absence of some songs that were omnipresent elsewhere on L.A. radio (i.e., Dead Sara’s big hit, White Arrows, Milo Greene, Race, etc.). That’s because their big singles were in last year’s countdown.
