Twelve-twelve-twelve:
‣ Guitar goliaths the Sword visit the El Rey Theatre behind the recent release of their fourth album, “Apocryphon,” with Gypsyhawk and American Sharks opening. Above is the Austinites’ video for “The Veil of at Isis”,” directed by Simon Chan.
‣ Mercury Prize winners Alt-J swing back through L.A. [we were at the Echo back in August] for a date at the Fonda Theatre, with local wunderkinds Wildcat! Wildcat! supporting.
‣ A couple of artists who each did residencies earlier this year at the Bootleg team up for a show at Troubadour – cinematic electro wiz JMSN and and rocker Meg Myers.
‣ Shoegazer trio Nightmare Air continues its Wednesday night residency at the Silverlake Lounge, with United Ghosts on board tonight.
‣ And the Ruby Friedman Orchestra does a date at Los Globos, supported by Boys School and Sweetwater & the Satisfaction.
