Stream: Alpine, ‘Gasoline’

AlpineAustralia’s Alpine is bidding to be your next indie-pop crush, and the indie-pop sextet hailing from Melbourne may just have what it takes. Having done exceptionally well overseas with the likes of Kimbra, the Jezebels and more, Alpine’s sparkling pop, which lightly pulsates and seduces with its subtle grooves, now makes a debut with their album “A for Alpine” on this side of the pond. Slated for a release in the U.S. on May 11 via Votiv, songs such as their new single “Gasoline” and other hits such as “Hands” are draped with such dulcet female harmonies, you’d think they were Swedish instead. With lyrics like “There’s gasoline in your heart  / There’s fire in mine / I know I’m never gonna light you / But there’s always night time” cooing through the speakers, Alpine’s offering gems for the dance floor and melodies to make anyone nearby swoon.
