‣ Two beloved acts who released their debut albums within three months of one another in early 1980s – the Psychedelic Furs and X – highlight the six-week summer concert series at Pershing Square in downtown L.A. The free series runs six consecutive Saturdays starting July 13 and features, among other headliners, Dave Alvin, the Smithereens and the Tubes. (Pershing Square is also hosting tribute bands on Thursday nights and movie screening on Fridays.) Full schedule after the jump.

‣ In other free-summer-concerts news, Gardens & Villa has been added to round out the lineup for the Twilight Concert Series at the Santa Monica Pier, which kicks off July 11. Full schedule, with support acts, after the jump.

‣ And the new Out of Office Concerts in Grand Park in downtown L.A. have plenty of musical flavors, from indie-rockers the Rebel Light, Hobart W. Fink and Spirit Vine to Latin bands to pop and jazz. It’s a happy-hour kind of thing, starting at 5:30 p.m. Full schedule after the jump.
