Kan Wakan, the septet whose cinematic fusion of rock, soul, classical, Americana and psychedelia immediately won fans in its home base of Los Angeles and beyond, will headline the 75th annual Chinatown Mid-Autumn Moon Festival on Saturday, Sept. 21, in downtown L.A. Signed to Verve Music Group, Kan Wakan is expected to announce the release of its debut EP soon.

The free, all-ages event also features the Little Ones, Body Parts, Spirit Vine, Avid Dancer, Northern American and Victory on the LA Weekly Live Music Stage, as well as a host of cultural events, art and artisan installations, culinary displays and family activities celebrating Chinatown’s 75th anniversary. (And, of course, there’s the statue of Bruce Lee.) The live music kicks off at 5 p.m. on the stage opposite the Grand Star Jazz Club just south of Chinatown’s Central Plaza.
