‣ Australian synth-pop outfit Strange Talk returns to the U.S. for a headining show at the Bootleg Bar, with Omniflux and VIBES supporting. Above is the video for “Cast Away,” from their Tony Hoffer-produced EP; their album of that title will be out in the U.S. in the fall.
‣ “Disco orchestra” Escort heads up the lineup at Check Yo Ponytail at the Echoplex, where Pharaohs, Secret Circuit and Nightbox support.
‣ At the Satellite, there’s a Tribute to Elvis Costello with a pretty astute cast of players, including Cary Brothers, Chris Stills, Fatal Attractions, Hall of Fame, Kissing & the Hiccups, the Space Race and Two Sheds.
‣ Light FM continues its residency at Los Globos supported by Y LUV, Cardboard Lamb and 123Death.
‣ And Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran are back for a second night at Staples Center.
