Video: Tristen, ‘No One’s Gonna Know’

Can’t get enough of synth-pop? There’s certainly no shortage of it. Even Nashville sweetheart Tristen set out to conquer the genre when writing her sophomore effort “CAVES.” To ensure her follow-up to 2011’s “Charlatans at the Garden Gate” shimmered in a different light, Tristen enlisted famed New Order, Pet Shop Boys and OMD producer Stephen Hague to mix the record. Yielding tunes like the upbeat “No One’s Gonna Know,” the singer-songwriter even drops her guitar for some fun choreography for the music video, but don’t let the skimpy outfits fool you. The razor-sharp wit remains in those lyrics to remind fans why they were charmed in the first place. Sure, “CAVES” may be a bit more currently fashionable, but the record was still meticulously composed with lush string arrangements written by Tristen herself and then laid down with the help of Bright Eyes producer Mike Mogis. It’s quite the eclectic spin, but being bold has always been one of Tristen’s strong suits. “CAVES” is out now via Pupsnake Records and Thirty Tigers.
