Top of the Monday to you:
‣ Britpop quartet the Kooks are back. They’re working on a new album target for release later this year, and tonight they’re at the Troubadour for a doubleheader – an early show and a late show.
‣ Instrumental metallurgist Russian Circles bring their huge dynamics to the El Rey Theatre, with Helms Alee opening.
‣ Berlin-based trio Mighty Oaks – composed of an American, an Italian and a Brit – released their debut album “Howl” last month. They play It’s a School Night at Bardot along with Gossling and Cheyenne Mize. That’s their video for “Brother,” above.
‣ Moses Sumney continues his residency at the Bootleg Theater, supported by Tom Brosseau (who recently released a splendid album titled “Grass Punks”).
‣ And the Eagle Rock Gospel Singers continue their residency at the Satellite, with Chantal Claret, Rainbow Jackson and the Rio Bravo supporting.
