yOya‘s soundscape has blossomed into something bigger than “folk-tronica” on their new single. Yes, there are still those pliable vocal melodies, synth lines and acoustic guitar but Alex Pfender and Noah Dietterich continue to soar and break through genre lines with each release. “Fool’s Gold,” the latest song out now on New Professor Music, still features those lovely falsetto harmonies but the verses aren’t as feather-light which is refreshing to hear from the duo with impressive vocal range. “Fool’s Gold” and its delicate drama will have one swaying and aching in all the right places.
