Video: Fanfarlo, ‘Landlocked’

When Arcade Fire took three years to release a new album after “Neon Bible,” London’s Fanfarlo’s excellent debut “Reservoir” filled the hole in many hearts when it came to lush pop music played on a diverse set of instruments. However, the drama within Farfarlo’s orchestration has always had a life of its own and Simon Balthazar has had fun experimenting with the quintet’s sweeping folk interpretation of the genre. Fanfarlo’s third studio album “Let’s Go Extinct” returns to the initial warmth and playfulness of the first album, but there are still some new songs such as “Landlocked” that boast a breezy tropical sheen. The Inga Birgisdóttir-directed clip, however, is set in a climate opposite of the soundscape thanks to its filming in Iceland.
