Not that you should need any extra reasons to check out the Happy Hollows residency at Spaceland, but here’s one: New Jersey quartet Real Estate [download below] – turning a lot ears on the Other Coast with their shimering, feel-good indie-pop – opens. Dios is on the bill too, and if you haven’t heard their new album “We Are Dios,” you should check it out. … Also: The Books doing a gig at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery; Mississippi Man’s residency at the Silverlake Lounge, with Olin and the Moon opening; Pop Noir’s residency at the Detroit Bar, with the Polyamorous Affair playing for added value; Fanfarlo at the Echo; Papa Roach and Jet at Club Nokia, with local kids Billy Boy on Poison and After Midnight Project supporting; El Perro del Mar at Hotel Cafe; Joe Perry at House of Blues Anaheim; Thrice at the Avalon and Post-Foetus at the Smell.
