London singer-songwriter Jack Garratt has garnered buzz with his bearded brew of standout alternative R&B. His EP “Remnants” was released in July and shows off his sophisticated and meticulous style of soul-meets-indie-meets-ghostly synth. Vocally, Garratt is emotive and strong with a fierce falsetto and seductive growling depth. Songs “Worry” and “Water” are haunting with ambient beats and abstract layers that compliment his passionate lyrics. “Remnants” explores a handful of genres and the end product is a stunning collection of unique melodies, head-spinning guitar solos and cerebral beats. Garratt, in town tonight for his L.A. debut, is giving genre-blending his own spin, and his knack for unconventional pop is sure to turn a few heads.
